Laura Rachez
Painter
Laura was born and raised in Rustrel in the Luberon, a village known for its Colorado with its colorful ocher cliffs. We should perhaps see there, the origin of his passion for painting. She has always loved to draw and create, she has been mixing colors with her brushes for 20 years. Her first exhibition was held in Rustrel in 2012. Today, she lives and works in a small village in the Monts de Vaucluse: Monieux, about thirty kilometers from the one where she had her first experiences. She paints with watercolors or oil paintings representing the interiors of houses, where there is a living silence. The inhabitants of the houses are not present on the canvas, the beds are unmade, the clothes abandoned on the floor, the tables filled with open books and glasses of wine: testimony to their moments spent there, to love, to read, to be. An ordinary, poetic life, illuminated by daylight passing through the panes of the windows. Laura makes and decorates utilitarian stoneware pottery on which she paints portraits of women, animals or celestial stars. The pottery is food safe and dishwasher safe.
